Volunteers help students understand the economics oflife by bringing the real world applications to students and opening their mi nds to their potential.
Adopt-a-Family
Volunteers give our family the opportunity to give back to the true spirit of Christmas and share with those who are less fortunate. The needy families are presented with gifts for the children and the family. Volunteers are given details of the family they have adopted.
Kinder Buddies and First Grade Friends
Volunteers will visit these classes twice a year in order to share the enjoyment of reading. It is a great way for students to practice their oral language and enjoy fun stories. The students will practice what they have learned in class since each reading session is followed by a short activity. The activity is designed to reinforce learning of what has studied.
Mentors
Volunteers provide one-on-one social development for at-risk students to help attain the student's goals. Volunteers will meet with child once a month or volunteers' provide schedule. A mentor is a caring and trusting friend who enjoys listening to the students and their concerns.
Incentives
Volunteers participate in attendance rallies for an average of 4 times during the school year. Rallies are for students with honor roll and perfect attendance and are awarded with luncheons, bike giveaways, and surprise bags for runner-ups.
Technology Partner
Volunteers will provide knowledge of technology awareness of computer skills and word processors available in the real world.
Science (Garden)
Volunteer in garden projects and project based learning experiences throughout the year and assisting in fall and spring gardening.
Career Day
Volunteers needed to present information about their profession and their college preparation.
